MOZILLA SUMMER CODE PARTY TO SHOW KIDS HOW THE WEB WORKS

Are your children interested in the computer?  Video games?  The Internet?  Why not let them learn how it works from the inside out?

Send them to the Mozilla Summer Code Party to make something cool and learn how the code behind the web works. During this free two-hour session on Sunday, September 16th at the Kill Devil Hills library, students will learn how to view web code and create their own HTML projects. No experience is necessary. Interest is only required.

Two sessions will be available beginning at 12:30 pm and 3 pm. Space is limited, so interested web coders(age 8 to 12)  should pre-register by  going to www.boldprintdesign.com/codeparty or calling (252) 441-2041. Snacks and computers for use will be provided. Coders will take home a newly found knowledge, cool stickers and their project codes to share with family and friends.

Locally owned businesses, Bold Print Design Studio, Shoshin Technologies, Inc. and outer banks child magazine are collaborating with Mozilla to reach out to the youth in our community and teach a fun and useable skill for now and the future.

Mozilla is a proudly non-profit organization dedicated to keeping the power of the Web in people’s hands. It is a global community of users, contributors and developers working to innovate on the user’s behalf. Users of Firefox, or any Mozilla product, are a part of that community, helping to build a brighter future for the Web. Mozilla believes it’s crucial to give people the skills they need to understand, shape and actively participate in that world, instead of just passively consuming it.

Bold Print Design Studio has been in business on the Outer Banks for over 10 years offering marketing solutions for local businesses in both print and web media. Bold Print has strived to lead the Outer Banks business community into a more advanced web presence by staying on top of new technology and web development concepts and putting them into practice for their clients.

Shoshin Technologies, Inc. (STI) is the technology department for successful businesses and local governments in the Outer Banks and beyond.  Recently, Shoshin Technologies became a Xerox Peak Premier Partner.

outer banks child magazine is a quarterly publication focused on local and visiting families with children age birth to 12. The complimentary guide provides articles, photos and an event calendar for the community and is distributed throughout Dare and Currituck counties.
