Whalehead Club and Twiddy & Company holds Food Drive with Holiday Illumination
Non-perishable food items of boxed cookies, boxed rice or noodle meals, and pop-top cans of soup and stew will be accepted for donation from Friday, November 23 to Friday, December 7th at the Whalehead Club and Twiddy & Company offices in Corolla. At 5pm on Friday, December 7th, the annual Holiday Illumination will commence with simultaneous lighting of the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and Currituck Heritage Park with carols from Corolla local soloist John Grattan. Then, guests are invited to come inside and enjoy the holiday music played on the original Steinway piano by Corolla local Gail Kunkel & Ray Meiggs with songs sung by Currituck County Chorus and the students from Water’s Edge Village School. After the songs, guests will be able to tour the historic house festively decorated as it would be in the 1920’s. The food items collected will then be delivered to Corolla Chapel, the Corolla distribution site for Food for the Elderly.
