During the summer months Alligator River Refuge holds a weekly red wolf howling program. First, we meet at the Creef Cut Wildlife Trail parking lot for a talk about red wolves, the red wolf program and Alligator River Refuge. Then everyone gets back in their vehicle and follows the leader back into the refuge woods, through a gated area normally closed to the public. We park and gather in a clearing to howl at the wolves and see if they will respond (usually they do). We normally don't see wolves, but we do hear them respond. $10 for those 13 and above. Free for kids with an adult.
