Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge canoe tours run Tue-Fri June through August. They cost $30 for 13 and above & $20 for 12 & under. These are guided tours out into the canals and shoreline waters of the Pamlico Sound. We provide the canoes, paddles, life jackets and leaders. You porvide the paddle power. Unlike our Alligator River Refuge canoe tours, where we only exit the canoe upon tour completion, Pea Island Refuge canoe tour involves getting in and out of your your canoe along the way to explore. We stop and wade through the shallow water looking for crabs, skates, birds, footprints, shells, etc. You will get wet. This is a good trip for kids if you have two adults to paddle the canoe. Footwear is required. Reservations also required. Call 252-216-9464.
