Volunteer in Family Literacy Program
Mano al Hermano is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support and empower the Latino community in Dare County. Our Family Literacy Program serves more than 100 children - Kindergarteners through Fifth graders - a week by providing them with home-based tutoring. Through our Family Literacy Program, volunteers visit the homes of families once a week to assist the children with homework and literacy skills. Volunteers do not need to speak Spanish or have prior teaching experience. You must be 18 years or older to volunteer
