Community Economic Sustainability Committee
Works to ensure that the economic environment of the Outer Banks Region supports business success and growth. The committee is charged with executing the Business Retention & Expansion program as well as the annual Economic Summit.
Government Affairs Committee
Advocates on behalf of the membership to local, state and federal elected officials on issues of importance. The committee is charged with development of an annual legislative agenda as well as actively attending meetings on issues.
Community Housing Initiative Committee
Works toward solutions for housing for the region’s year round and seasonal workforce.
Diplomats serve as liaisons between the business owners and the Chamber. They participate in member ribbon cuttings, serve as greeters at Chamber Business After Hours, refer prospective new members and serve as cheerleaders for the Chamber and its many roles in the business community.
Event Committee Members
Plan, promote and execute successful Chamber events. The events include: Tech Expo, Job Fair, Reverse Raffle, Annual Auction and others as they come up.
Leadership OBX Planning Committee
Works on the retreat and planning for the year long leadership program. Committee members are assigned sessions based on their background and expertise, and members work to schedule presenters and activities, secure venues and meals, and create session agendas for their days. Members of the committee serve for two years and must be alumni of the Leadership OBX program and a member of the Chamber.
