THE OUTER BANKS HOSPITAL
The Outer Banks Hospital is a full service, community hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. A joint venture between Vidant Health and Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, the 83,796 square foot facility includes eighteen (18) acute care medical-surgical beds, two (2) labor and delivery/recovery/post-partum beds, one (1) level II nursery bed and three (3) operating rooms, a designated caesarian section room, outpatient and diagnostic services, and a 24-hour emergency department.

Designed especially to meet the health needs of our coastal community, whose year-round population of 35,000 swells to about 250,000 in the summer season, OBH has approval as a provider of Medicare and Medicaid programs, licensure by the Division of Facility Services, and accreditation by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, College of American Pathologists, and the American College of Radiology.

COMMUNITY CARE CLINIC OF DARE
When those who experience financial difficulty have medical needs, the Community Care Clinic of Dare offers quality treatnent at no cost. With two locations-one in Nags Head and another in Frisco-the clinic ensures that everyone receives the basic health care they need.  Highly trained staff and volunteers of doctors and nurses provide non-emergency medical treatment, health education and promotion, prescription assistance, and more A Spanish interpreter is available on-site for those who need assistance.

SENTARA ALBEMARLE MEDICAL CENTER
Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, located in Elizabeth City, is a full-service facility with more than 100 physicians and nearly 1 ,000 staff members. With 182 beds. the hospital provides residents with quality care and compassion from highly skilled medical professionals in close to 30 specialty areas. The center offers a wide range of services,such as emergency care, maternity services, genera l surgery. orthopedic services, therapy. cancer care, imaging, heart and vascular care, and so much more. Sentara hospitals have been listed as some of America's Best Hospitals by U.S. News and World Report for over 15 years and are among the 100 Great Hospitals in America 2016 by Becker's Hospital Review, as well as boasting several other accolades.

DARE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES
The Dare County Department of Health & Human Services is committed 10 meeting the evolving health and social needs of the Outer Banks community. II is the primary department responsible for protecting the health of all Dare County residents and protecting. strengthening, and helping families and individuals achieve self-sufficiency.


Dare County Department of Health & Human Services partners with individuals, families, and the community to strengthen their efforts toward healthy living, independence, permanence, and safety.  The  comprised of a public heal th division, social services division, and administrative division. Services offered include economic assistance services, clinical services, home health and hospice, preventative services, and more. 

Older Adult Services

There are two long-term care facilities in the area Peak Resources(144 beds) in Nags Head (252) 441-3116;  and Sentara Nursing Center (100 beds) in Barco (252) 457-0500.  Both facilities also offer outpatient rehab services.

Spring Arbor, located at 803 W. Ocean Bay Boulevard, Kill Devil Hills, offers 72 units of one-bedroom and one bedroom deluxe apartments with services including meals, activities, transportation and assistance. (252)449-4455, www.springarborliving.com

The Dare County Older Adult Services is located at the Thomas A.
